2018 Jeju Drone Film Festival

The Jeju Drone Film Festival (JDFF) is South Korea’s first film festival specialized in drone and is organized and hosted by JIBS (Jeju Free International City Broadcasting System).

The Drone Film & Photo program, which constitutes the central part of the event, is composed of two sections: the thematic section POI (Point of Interest) and the competitive section SOA (State of the Art).

The POI section presents drone films that revolve around a different theme every year.

The SOA section is a competitive program for Northeast Asian artists (Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan). The official jury will select one winner for each of the six categories. (Landscape-Jeju, Dronie, Fresstyle FPV, Showreel, Creative, Still Photography).

The films will be screened in the Arche Hall Auditorium of the Jeju Aerospace Museum during the festival, while photos will be exhibited at various locations within the museum. The Awards Shows will be held in the Arche Hall Auditorium on November 3rd, 2018, at 6.30 pm.

The festival will also feature a Special exhibition, Drone Talks, experiential events, Drone classes, and many more. These events will provide as many opportunities for visitors to discover the potentials of drones.

The Jeju Drone Film Festival intends to become a privileged space in Jeju Island for people to discuss the artistic, industrial and sociocultural prospects of the drones in the production, distribution and reception of audiovisual content. On the first weekend of November 2018, Jeju Island will become the Drone Island.
